The permanent exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Eretria has been operating in its present form since 1991. It contains finds from the surrounding area of Eretria that chronologically cover the periods from the Early Bronze Age to the Roman times. This major archaeological themes such as pottery, sculpture, silverwork, weapons that give an indicative picture of the culture that developed in this region and its inhabitants. The most famous exhibits in public, much more in the scientific community are small clay centaur from the cemetery of Lefkandi, the earliest representation of this mythical being, and the sculpture complex of Theseus with the Amazon Antiope from the west pediment of the Late Archaic temple Apollo Eretria.
